Supervision

What is the purpose of supervision?

Supervision is an accountable, two-way process, which supports, motivates and enables the development of good practice for individuals who work with the wellbeing of others. As a result, this improves the quality of service provided by the organisation / person. Supervision is a vital part of individual performance management.

In our first supervisory session we will explore together your  experience; wether you are a counsellor, a student, management, a teacher or need a supervisor for any other reason and what  you are looking for from your supervision and how we can work together.

I am happy to offer clinical supervision to both counsellors and those within  roles that require supervision.

I am commited to providing supervsion that emcompasses your ongoing personal development, meeting guidelines and legislation, within an enviroment that is supportive and welcoming.

 Supervision

The Ethical Framework defines supervision as:

"A specialised form of mentoring provided for practitioners responsible for undertaking challenging work with people. Supervision is provided to ensure standards, enhance quality, advance learning, stimulate creativity, and support the sustainability and resilience of the work being undertaken."

Supervision offers you a reflective space in which to develop practice and so benefits client safety. All aspects of your practice should be open to supervision.

How I work as a supervisor

How I work as a Supervisor is informed from the basis of my training.

I strongly hold the belief that the relationship I aim to form with all supervisees is based on the core conditions of the the Person Centred theory whilst being also supportive, informative, educational, restorative and reflective, which will aim to monitor the professional and personal development of the supervisee. My Integrative training which includes Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviourial Therapy, Transactional Analysis, whilst using The Seven Eyed model and working with an individuals own learning style offers an overall Holistic Approach which the supervisee may draw upon in order to inform and enhance their learning and working practices.

I work with supervisees on a one to one basis, supporting qualified and trainee counsellors, as well as professionals within other roles.
